Also within the lens are amber LED's to provide turn signal functions. When the turn signal is activated the amber LED's override the red LED's on the selected side. This feature allows you to remove your factory signals to clean up the tail of your motorcycle or keep them on to provide an extra margin of safety by adding additional visibility. LED's also provide many benefits like reduced power consumption. These units simply plug into your stock wiring harness, you just need to connect one wire for each turn signal.
